The polysemic Galician word “POLDRA” refers to a feminine energy and strength capable of carrying, like young mares do, but at the same time it means a solid point of support on which to rest your feet to cross a river.
Thus, from shore to shore, this expanded literature programme connects literary authors with reading communities in municipalities throughout the province of A Coruña.
Promoted by the
Culture Area of the Diputación de A Coruña, POLDRA takes writers from outside Galicia to reading clubs, libraries, cultural spaces, and educational centres that draw from their experience, creative process, or literary displays.
Feeding in part from our writers in residence, but not only, these literary voices add Galician audiences to their work while also coming into contact with cultural agents, creators, spaces, projects, and, ultimately, all the cultural richness of the province of A Coruña, beyond the cities.
